What Can I Expect on My First Visit With Dr. McGahey?
On your first visit to Eastside Chiropractic Group you will be asked to fill out some paperwork to help Dr. McGahey understand the reasons you are seeking care.
If you like, you can download that paperwork HERE, or we can email or fax it to you so you can fill it out ahead of time.
You will then meet with Dr. McGahey. He will thoroughly review your past history, your current condition, and the reasons you’re seeking care. He will also happily answer any questions and address any concerns you may have about Chiropractic or Active Release Technique treatment. Dr. McGahey will then perform a thorough examination, including x-rays and video fluoroscopy motion x-ray, if indicated.
What Can I Expect During My First Chiropractic Treatment?
If Dr. McGahey feels you are a good candidate for Chiropractic or Active Release, and if you agree, you will receive your first treatment. The scope and type of Chiropractic treatment may vary depending on your particular condition, and whether you have special needs or preferences.
Dr. McGahey may perform Chiropractic adjustments to help reduce pain and restore normal motion to the joints of the spine and body, and Active Release therapy to reduce muscle spasm and return normal function to the muscles and soft tissues.
Dr. McGahey may also give you home instructions, including the use of heat or ice, avoidance of specific activities, as well as rehabilitative stretches and exercises.
What Can I Expect On My Second Visit With Dr. McGahey?
On your second visit, Dr. McGahey will review all of the findings from your first visit in detail with you. This report of findings will address your particular condition, what can be done to help, how long treatment will take, and what that treatment involves.
He will also address any specific questions or concerns you may have about your treatment or condition at that time. He may also recommend referral to another provider to help you get better faster.
How Soon Until I Start To Feel Better with Chiropractic Treatment?
Many of Dr. McGahey’s patients start to feel immediate relief after their first treatment. Depending on the severity of your condition, it may be days or weeks before you feel significant relief. Healing is a process, but if you follow the recommended treatment plan you’ll likely start to feel better in a short amount of time.
